Abstract

The article “Shia and the Quran” compiled by Jewish Orientalist Bar Acher, by introducing some wrong opinions and highlighting some isolated and even rejected shiite sects, is seeking to offer a fabricated image of shia and its concept of the Quran. This article was published in Laiden Encyclopedia of the Quran which is amongst the best references about the Quran.
This study, in addition to mentioning the content of the above-mentioned article, criticizes the opinions of Bar Acher about the Shiite concept of the Quran by referring to authoritative shiite sources at first. Naturally we also have a glance at the scientific status of the writer.
