Abstract

In order to produce knowledge in any discipline of human sciences, human features, his especial capacities, and the factors of his perfection and decadence should be clarified. All these can influence the type, quality, and achievements of human sciences. That is why the anthropological foundations of western humanities are different from those of Islamic human sciences. Human sciences originated in the west would follow lead to certain consequences for the students and scholars in Muslim countries. Consequences which prove to be in conflict with the culture, religion, values and norms of the Muslim society. Endeavoring to solve this problem, the present article, relying on the Quran, studies a part of the foundations of human sciences dealing with knowing human being and his features. These foundations are likely to change the achievements of human sciences while not dealt with in the works available in a systematic way. Taking a descriptive analytical method and studying the viewpoints of some contemporary scholars including Imam Khomeini, and the disciples of the intellectual school of Allama Tabatabai, this article would discuss six foundations which are the most significant anthropological ones in human sciences and are capable of changing the fate and nature of the present human sciences.
