Abstract

Abstract

The religion of Islam has called Muslims brothers and established a relationship of brotherhood between them. Describing believers as brothers is in fact an emphasis on their mutual rights, solidarity, cooperation and assistance between them and avoiding dispersion. One of the cases that has been clarified for this brotherhood is in verse 178 of Surah Al-Baqarah. One of the people in this verse is the murderer in intentional murder, and this has caused the commentators to struggle to determine among whom this brotherhood is recognized in this verse, and if the murderer is one of those around him, why is he called a religious brother? It seems that the absence of corruption and the absence of committing a major sin are among the conditions for establishing religious brotherhood for most commentators. This article seeks to present and prove the notion that there is religious brotherhood among all faith classes and individuals in the Islamic society, and that committing a major sin and depravity does not prevent this validity. And basically, the purpose of the recognition of religious brotherhood in the verses of the Holy Quran is empathy among all members of the Islamic community, and this solidarity will only be realized if exclusion and dualism are eliminated from the Islamic community and even believers who are at lower levels of faith are included in the recognition of brotherhood.
